
Brief Background: The idea of the “casserole” popularized in the 20th century and became known as comfort food. It particular became popular in the 1950s. People would use food like campbell soups, vegetables, and starches. They would use Pyrex (which is a type of glassware). It became known for feeding large families on a budget.
Why I decided to make this dish: I had the idea of making a casserole, but I wanted it to be healthy, so I found a recipe that had a “light version” of a casserole. I wanted something tasty with flavor and this recipe fit the bill.
What I did not like/ What I messed up: For this recipe I do not think I messed anything up. Maybe I could have put it in a bigger pan because I had made so much of it. Also, my pet peeve is cutting up chicken breast which is a pain. I do not like cutting up chicken breast, it is so time consuming and takes a lot of work and effort.
What I liked about this recipe: If anything, I felt like I had an abundance of food. I had made the type of food that could feed a whole family, like a husband, wife and kids. I wish I had made less, because I had to end up throwing a lot of it away due to storing issues. I liked the fact that I used whole grain pasta.
