This past Christmas season (to my surprise) I received a box of pears from a family friend. I thought about just taking one pear per day to work for lunch, which I did do once, but ultimately I decided that I wanted to make something with these pears. I typed into Google, ” what dessert can I make with pears?” A plethora of options came up like “pear cake”, “pear tarts,” and “pear pie.” Ultimately, I decided on pear cobbler and I found this recipe from the SpruceEats.com. During the process of creating pear cobbler I substituted and took out some ingredients. Instead of plain white sugar, I used brown sugar, and I reduced the amount of sugar used. On the recipe ingredient list it says to use 1 1/2 cups of sugar, I used two tablespoons of brown sugar. Instead of 8 tablespoons of unsalted sugar, I used 4 tablespoons of buttery spread. I eliminated salt from this recipe. In addition, I also used fewer pears in this pear cobbler. The recipe list wanted me to use 3 to 4 cups of pears. Down below is a picture of the pear cobbler before it was cooked, but had all the ingredients in it.

Down below is a picture of how it looked after it was done.
